MSD built the MSD Ignition Coil – Blaster Series – High Vibration to thrive in the toughest conditions. Whether you’re running off-road, in marine environments, or on the track, this coil delivers reliable, high-energy spark while standing up to punishing vibration. MSD encased the internal windings in premium-grade epoxy inside a rugged metal canister. This provides for a completely sealed primary and secondary windings and protects against high- and low-frequency vibrations.

This coil delivers up to 45,000 volts, thanks to its efficient 100:1 turns ratio and low primary resistance of 0.7 ohms, making it an excellent match for MSD Ignitions and most electronic ignition systems. MSD recommends using a ballast resistor if you’re connecting it to a points-style ignition (MSD PN: 8214).

You can install this coil in virtually any orientation—unlike most other Blaster coils—thanks to its fully potted epoxy construction. It fits most factory-style canister mounts and pairs perfectly with MSD’s optional Chrome Coil Bracket (PN: 8213) for a secure and clean installation.
